Project Objective :
Implementing centralized operating mechanism for FRUIT PULP EXTRACTION PLANT to completely eradicate conventional method of distributed manual control.


Softcon Automation Scope :
• Design & engineering of control panel.
• Application development for HMI and controller.
• Testing & Commissioning.


System Description :
Controllogix L71 PAC communicating with distributed Remote Flex IO system at four locations.
Network architecture protocol: Ethernet/IP (Industrial Ethernet).
HMI package: Panelview plus 1500, windows CE at local and remote station each for:

Operational interface
Real time monitoring
Historical Trends
Data-logging for PREHEATER temperature and pressure.

Project Description :
Four production lines; each line production capacity of 15 ton pulp.
Parallel production, with provisioning of INTERLINE CROSS
between enlisted stages of any particular line.
 
Provisioning operator to generate for around more than 1500 combination to be commissioned for.
 
Process stages:
  Dumping
  Preheating
  Pulping & extraction
  Standardization
  Decanting
  Balancing
  Sterilization requirement
Data logging provision for Preheater parameters up to maximum storage around 20 days.
 
Historical trends up to max buffer data stored for 10 days on windows CE environment.
 
Project Challenges :
Phase wise automation with considering major part able to operate on conventional manual mode.
 
Logic development and testing in running batch process.
Narrow testing time band considering safety for running equipments.
 
Fool proof commissioning at single shot to ensure every phase undertaken for automation is ready for immediate production.
 

Project Accomplishments :
Complete project commissioning and testing achieved as per process requirement.
Complete utilization, enhanced productivity, exclusion of specific equipment of plant machineries achieved by INTERLINE CROSS application.
Reduction in large number of operator presence during production with the process monitoring and supervision harbored optimum level.
